About us

Nicholson Proud is run by Rachel Proud and Paul Nicholson whose combined arts management experience covers a wide range of professional and amateur music.

Rachel Proud
Rachel’s background includes project management for IMG Artists, where she organised international tours for a wide range of artists, including the Vienna Boys Choir and the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, and five years at Club Europe organising European concert tours for a variety of amateur choirs and ensembles. Other projects have included work for COMA, where she set up and managed the award-winning Open Score project, widening access to contemporary classical music for amateur musicians, and two years as Events Manager at the Royal College of Music, where she developed and managed the commercial letting of College facilities. Rachel has also worked in artist management, running the singers agency Concert Directory International for several years.

Paul Nicholson

Paul was a choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge and founded the record label Quilisma whilst a student.  After graduation he managed King’s College Choir and helped to establish the King’s College Chapel Foundation, before moving to London to manage the Business & Community Services Unit at the Royal College of Music. After five years as General Manager of Southbank Sinfonia, helping to establish it as a groundbreaking orchestral academy for talented young musicians, he returned to Cambridge to manage Trinity College Choir and other musical activities at Trinity College.
